Unique properties

Granulated sugar has various unique properties. It has characteristic sweetening power, a pure sweet taste and an accompanying flavour profile. The granulated sugar in fruit yoghurts, for example, ensures a good sweet-sour balance.

In addition the texture of many foods is determined by granulated sugar. For example, in bakery products it creates the right softness (cake) or crunchiness (biscuits). And by caramelising granulated sugar baked products acquire an attractive golden-brown appearance and a specific flavour.

Furthermore, by reducing the water activity, granulated sugar has a preservative action. Moreover, the sugar is easily processed thanks to the good solubility. Finally sugar can be stored indefinitely.

 

Many applications
Granulated sugar has many applications. Both in food (including soft drinks, dairy products, confectionary, bakery products and sauces) and in non-food (such as tobacco and rubber). In addition to standard granulated sugar, we produce customer-specific compositions by sieving the sugar. We tailor the properties of our sugar to meet the requirements of your production process and products.

For cakes and biscuits, for example, this means more control over the pouring properties, and consequently over the volume, lightness and crispness.
