The Cosun Food Technology Centre (CFTC) in Roosendaal – our centre of expertise for Research & Development – makes a continuous contribution towards the innovation capacity of Suiker Unie. CFTC has a technology hall where the production process of soft drinks, chocolate, sauces, dairy products and confectionery products can be carried out on a small scale. This means that we can make accurate recommendations about the composition and the processing of new or existing products. Examples of this are the functional drink concepts that are developed for specifically-defined target groups.
In addition, a well-trained technical-sensory panel enables us to optimise and monitor the flavour, aroma and texture profile of the products developed. In this context we have developed a model that ascertains which combination of sweeteners can achieve the maximum synergy in sweetening power. For various combinations of sweeteners we also examine the connection between sweetening intensity and the development of the sensation in the mouth over time. In this way we search for the optimum solution in available sweeteners for diverse applications.
Thanks to its thorough process-technology knowledge, Suiker Unie can contribute ideas and make a concrete contribution to your process development.
In addition to knowledge of products and processes we also offer innovation in the field of logistics and services. Suiker Unie has a web portal for industrial buyers where customers with a personal password have access to customer-orientated information about deliveries, products and up-to-date news.
