To process the sugar beet, they are sliced into thin strips known as cossettes that are then washed and conveyed to diffusers. The diffusers are filled with hot water to dissolve the sugar out of the cossettes. The spent cossettes are then pulped and pressed and sold as animal feed. Duynie, a member of Cosun, is responsible for the sale and logistics of this product.
