Molasses

Molasses is a syrupy liquid obtained from the syrup remaining after the sugar has been crystallised out of sugar cane/sugar beet juice.

Molasses applications
Thanks to its fermenting properties, the alcohol producing sector is an important market for molasses. In animal feed, molasses is used as binding agent in the drying and compression of beet pulp. In the fermentation industry, fermentable sugars such as molasses are an essential raw material. The molasses produced by Cosun Beet Company is used for the production of (baking) yeast, citric acid, yeast extracts and bioethanol.
